I'm looking at the ADV-100 or the R-100 sump/refugium. Is anyone running either of these which would be better? I'm going to be using the aquaC urchin pro skimmer with it.

You may have to be a little more specific on the sumps... Not sure what those numbers correlate to...?

They are just the model numbers. The R(regular)-100 has three chambers. A skimmer chamber, a refugium chamber, and a chamber with a filter sock. The ADV(advanced)-100 has two chambers. A skimmer chamber and a larger refugium chamber, no filter sock but does have probe compartments.

Well personally I would go for the 3 chamber sump. My sump has 3 chambers and the larger the better. My advise would be to get the biggest sump you can fit. I use a 40 gal breeder tank that I separated into 3 chambers using plexiglass. The left chamber holds my filter sock, protein skimmer, 2 heaters, and various probes. The center chamber is the return. It also houses my ATO unit and my dosing lines. My right chamber is my refugium. I house a couple probes there also and my cheato and caulerpa algae as well as live rock. Both left and right chambers have bubble traps built in; and empty into the center return chamber. On the return line to the main tank I have a "T" with a control valve that empties into the right chamber.

Maybe that will give you a good idea for a setup.

My tips would be to get a the largest sump possible with a big refugium. The more algae you can hold, the better off you will be.

Sorry I had no idea what model numbers or brand those were from. But if I had to choose I would easily say a 3 chamber.
