I don't think there is really a way to call one "better" than the other. It all depends on ones personal preferences and goals. The sump pictured looks like a DIY setup, which for alot of reefers meets their needs and works perfectly Now if you're like myself, and absolutely horrible at DIY projects, something premade like the one linked would be the better bet. Again not saying one is better than the other, just saying that it all depends on the individual and their goals and DIY knowledge
