About 2 weeks ago had a bad dyno problem so honestly never consistently feed it, just finished a 3 day blackout and noticed thisWhen is the last time you fed it? Does it eat?
If it's not eating, try target feeding (or broadcast feeding depending on the size of your tank) Hikari Coral Delite...my always come out even during the day when i do
Thanks, How often do you feed it ?If it's not eating, try target feeding (or broadcast feeding depending on the size of your tank) Hikari Coral Delite...my always come out even during the day when i do
Thank you will do it daily now !You know it’s non photosynthetic right? It gets nutrition from feeding. Everyday is best.
Look at your alk, calcium levels as well as salinity and ph. Also placement should be in the shadiest area of tank you can provide with moderate water flow
Very helpful will try to match these parameters thank you !Look at your alk, calcium levels as well as salinity and ph. Also placement should be in the shadiest area of tank you can provide with moderate water flow

They need to eat at least every other day if not every day.About 2 weeks ago had a bad dyno problem so honestly never consistently feed it, just finished a 3 day blackout and noticed this
You can feed them everyday...when they get used to being fed around a certain time they'll learn to extend their polyps even with the light on (you might need to start when the tank is dark though if it isn't used to being fed)Thanks, How often do you feed it ?
Pull it out and put it in a small cup with some tank water. Load it up with food directly on the polyps. leave it for 30 minutes or so. check up on it every 5 10 minutes if one of the polyps has eaten all the food then put some more on it.About 2 weeks ago had a bad dyno problem so honestly never consistently feed it, just finished a 3 day blackout and noticed this
Thanks man sounds like the best idea !Pull it out and put it in a small cup with some tank water. Load it up with food directly on the polyps. leave it for 30 minutes or so. check up on it every 5 10 minutes if one of the polyps has eaten all the food then put some more on it.
I never had directly fed mine but I do broadcast feedings every day, it just wasn't enough. After a few months it started losing tissues and stopped extending its polyps. A few days of the above treatment and its come back to life. I now feed it directly every day.
If you aren't getting it to open up that way, try putting it back in the tank and give it some good water flow because that's important for some sun corals (maybe it depends on the species just how important it is because my black sun coral won't open very readily without good water flow on it)Thanks man sounds like the best idea !
