My sun corals used to open when I fed the tank at night and stayed that way until morning. (in the tank about 4 months and making babies , they looked great ). All was well. For the past few weeks they aren't opening nightly or only some of the heads will open.
This roughly coincided with adding my diamond goby, who of course decided to burrow right near the sun corals and he kicks up lots of sand (like all diamond gobies
)
Could the sand be the reason they aren't opening? All other corals (mixed reef) are as usual and my parameters haven't changed. Alk hangs out around 8.2-8.5, Ca 420, Mg 1480. Temp 77.3. Salinity 1.0255.
Debating moving the sun corals. I have dendros on the other side of the tank that are unaffected.
TIA
Cindy
