Assure water quality is good. Ethromyacin is best bet for recovery of eye which is not yet critical. May be from a scratch/light injury
Maracyn 2 is the recommended

Thank you! The Maracyn 2 can be added to my DT w/o harming any corals, fish and inverts?
Separate tank or container. . . . . It contains minocycline which may be harmful to inverts and SPS coral. Some have used it successfully in a reef but it is a RISK

Just to follow up on this. Didn't have to use Maracyn 2.
Did frequent water changes, bought Selcon and soaked to the food and fish is much better now.

These eye issues often resolve on their own. I usually recommend Maracyn 1 to treat these issues. The root cause is often mechanical damage, the fish hits its eye and it swells with gas as a reaction to the injury.

Just to add to this thread as it’s the most recent on this topic.

I’m currently dealing with pop eye over multiple fish and am at a loss on what to do. All fish go thru QT with TTM and prazi.

About a month ago one of my tile fish got pop eye on one eye, went completely blind and ended up with pop eye on second eye. Fish ended up passing away.

Got second tile fish same species and just saw yest that it now has pop eye on one eye.

Woke up today and my male Bartlett anthias has pop eye on one eye.

All fish go thru two rounds of prazi and I don’t see any sign of flukes, any other idea what it might be to be affecting numerous fish?

With tilefish and anthias, this is almost always caused by mechanical damage, there is no treatment other than time. However, you need to be absolutely certain that it is a gas supersaturation event. When multiple fish start getting this, and especially if it is in both eyes at once, look for tiny sliver long bubbles in the clear portions of the fins - if you see that, it confirms supersaturation. The most common cause of this is an air leak on the suction side of a pump, or if the sump runs dry and the pump catches air.

Thanks Jay. I don’t see anything on the fish so will just hope it’s nothing more than an injury as you say.
