Sundial--is it or isn't it?

There are a couple of reasons I'm thinking not. The ridges aren't the same & it doesn't really have the same checkerboard patterns as in the pics at ZoaID. Also, I NEVER see them on my zoas--always out in the open & only at night. My zoas seem fine too.

I've pulled out about a dozen of these guys in the past week.

I'm really hoping not. I hate to pull out benefitial creatures & kill them. I also hate putting my hands in my tank so much.
 
nope...I have a bunch of them...they go away for a while, then bloom up, then go away for a while...they never harm anything though.
 
Not sure if I am spelling this right but looks like a Collonista? They arent harmful at all from what I have read.
 
As reefgardner said they are not harmfull and will eat algea on you glass and rocks.....I have had an out break of them from time to time.....Never hurt anything.
 
I always thought those were some type of nerite? they come out at night and are great herbivores-reproduce well under the right conditions.
