My dragon soul is looking very different today. It’s sunken in and loosing some color. I got it like a month ago. I don’t know if it’s a light issue or what. LFS had it under T5s at the bottom. It’s under my LEDs (Steve’s LEDs) at 61%blues 10%whites. Irk what’s going on with it.
Phosphate .1-.2ppm
Alk-9.3
Cal-480ppm
PH-8.2
Nitrate- basically 0
Nitrite-0
Ammonia -0
Salinity -1.025
What could be going on??

you should have a 1:16 ratio of phosphates to nitrates aka redfield ratio , your starving your coral. Also favias are not super light intensive , I re gened some dead stung ones with a 17w fluval aquasky light 12" tank @ full 14k white

Can you go into more detail about the 1:16 ratio. Also my lights aren’t that high. They recommend 60-70% for lps and 65-80% sps

When you have high light and flow , with that high a dkh , you need to feed those badbois, grab some redsea A/B reef energy and some reef roids and a syringe start feeding like once a week the corals , and everyday the AB

Not sure what you have or not but they seem DIY ( so I asume 3w cree or osrams , bridgelux ect. with reg reflector caps . Whats the depth of tank and height of water ?

I also see a baby in that pic. If it is budding it will shrink up and do weird ish just for no reason. where the new bud will be.

yeah it says puts out way more par than you need and will and can kill corals. so I would go slow . like 15k 50% intensity and raise it slowly .Dont fall into this blue light only thing , try 15k -20k for your main growing photoperiod at least 4- 8 hours then the rest go really blue like that.

I dropped it to 53% and am going to see what happens. And the whites are at like 13%

If I had those numbers, I would be dosing nitrates for sure. Neonitrate is a decent premix. Loudwolf Sodium nitrate solution is cheaper way to go.

Just FYI, unless you experience fish death, you can put away the Nitrite and ammonia test kits. (There, I just gave you back 10 minutes a week of your life.) :)
