I'm looking to upgrade the lighting in my Red Sea Max 130D (currently 2 50/50 10,000K t5s) and was wondering if Stunner Strips or Reef Brites would be better. The tank is 24x19x24", and I read the Stunner Strips only had a penetration depth of 12 for the 12" strips(I was thinking of linking 2). So, which is the better choice for me? I mainly have zoas and LPS. Thanks, Adam

How many would it take then? I was thinking 1 all white strip would work, but would it be better to have 50/50?

I run a 48" reefbrite all blue on a 72" 180G. i'm FULLY satisfied even with one that doesn't cover the whole tank. it's BRIGHT, but not blaring too blue bright. it's perfect bright.

I am selling my 48in reef brights if you are interested...2 white and 1 50/50 they work great...

my tank under all reef brights...you can also check out my PB account to see more pic's under the reef brights.

I've only used reefbrites, blue as supplementation to my t5's and all I can say is am very happy with them so far... can't comment on the ecoray but between reefbrites and stunners I'd say a RB for sure.... I always thought the stunner's were more for like moonlights...

I have a 36 inch blue RB strip on my 76 gallon to supplement the T5's, and it is great. It penetrates deep water quite well. The corals respond to it, you can grow lps, softies, and some montis under a RB. I've seen stunner aka sunner strips, and they weren't that stunning comparatively.

I'd go with a 24 inch 50/50 and maybe another blue one so you can play around with the color.

the stunners are meant for more of accent lighting wheres as the rb actually will stimulate coral growth so in your situation the rbs would be the way to go

I personally was not all that impressed with the stunners, I'd have to agree, they reminded me more of just accent lighting. I opted for the 72" RB on my 125 in all blue and LOVE it! The depth is fantastic and it covers my tank. I didn't think it was going to at first but after playing around with the positioning I finally found the right angle.
