I bought a single polyp back in September. In a matter of one week of having it they sprouted two babies. I now have three mature polyps. They were at first very happy and healthy at about mid level in my 25 inch deep tank under 5x24watts of T5 lighting. After about two months they started to really stretch and reach out for the light with long stalks. A tell tale sign of needing more light right?
So I moved them to a much higher spot in the tank where they have been now for about 2 months.
Stalks are still medium to long, colors have become less vibrant and bright. Also they seem to make a dome shape with skirt pointing down mouth high. And have shown no signs of growth.

So I am curious to see where in the tank people have had the most success with the Sunny D morph as well as to see how the polyp has morphed in itself based on lighting and placement.

Pictures and description of light and placement would be awesome.

Mine are almost under a 250w MH but are on the bottom about 26" away from the bulb. They are in a moderate flow zone. They actually reach a little, but they have never been more beautiful.

Had mine about 8" below and off to the left of a 250w MH, initially they did great and were really growing and reproducing. Over time however, they slowly faded away. So lower down is probably better.

Thanks. This is the best mine have ever looked. I have them under 250w Radiums!
