Sunset Monti spreading too much

I was wondering if anyone has found an easy way to control where encrusting Monti's can grow. Mine is spreading from rock to rock and it is getting too big. Any suggestions?

You could just smother the new growth with some epoxy.

Yes, I've been doing that, and it seems like the best way to control it. But since it grows so quickly in a month it just grows over the new epoxy. At this point I have a few layers of epoxy. I'm afraid to let it leave the two rocks that it has covered or it might take over the tank.

Surround it with live rock rubble for it to grow over...tear/cut out the rubble after it has grown over, and then sell or give away those frags. Repeat over and over.

Sounds like an idea. I'll put some smaller rocks in those areas and see what happens.

I learned from the past that not to put this Monti in the tank. Once it gets going there's no stopping, it will encrust over anything in its path. If you must have it, give it its own rock.
