Upgraded from a 20 tall to a 50 tall. I will be adding new, crushed coral to the new display tank. Live sand from the 20 tall is going into my refugium, BUT the refugium is half the size (10 gallon)
I’m expecting about 4-5 inches of sand in the refugium. I’ve read that it can build up toxic stuff if too deep. Is it a good idea to have a deep sand bed? Could issues be offset by adding sand sifters and burrowing fish?
