I've been in the hobby for years now but I'm looking to restart my 60g cube with super-low maintenance. I ran this same tank previously for about 5 years, and a 29 before that, but I struggled to keep up with it. When I moved recently I did a full restart. My new dry rock has been in the tank with water for about 6 months now. No water changes but I have been keeping up with the top-off. I have a Neptune DOS I had previously been using for dosing but I'm considering switching it over to handle auto-water changes. I'm terrible at water changes and would like to make it as easy as possible going forward. Between work and family I just don't have the time. Any suggestions on livestock/automation would be appreciated as I start to populate the tank again. Should I be considering the trident? Anything else I should be aware of?

Type filtration?
Obviously lighting, small skimmer such as Ice-cap, Test kits, RODI unit and timer/controller unit

Do you plan to have corals? I have a 30 gallon ULM tank and went with all softies, and have little to no parameter swings. Water changes are all I really do... and I don't do those consistently. I found having macro algae helps with nutrient exporting.

I also have a softie/lps reef with macro algae for nutrient uptake. Even with 16 or so fish and very heavy feedings I get little to no nuisance algae and I do not use filter material, socks or a skimmer. The macro algae are beautiful in the same way coral are and red macros need less light so that can cut down on nuisance algae too.
Water changes are about 5-10 % every other week so not too bad.
