Super Male Lineatus Wrasse With..

Hoping someone can give me a answer on this.. Can you keep a super male lineatus wrasse with a mated pair of hawaiian flame wrasse's? It would be in a 4ft, 100gallon reef tank. Just wondering if anyone has done it before or if it would be a harassment issue? I'm pretty well schooled on angels/tangs and who gets along but not as much on the wrasses. Thanks for any and all input. Rich

Yes they can coexist. But a 4’ tank would be getting crowded especially cuz lineatus get big

You’ll be fine in a 4ft tank, plenty long for any cirrhilabrus...
Use an acclimation box though

There's really no such thing as a "mated" pair of Cirrhilabrus wrasses. The female will very likely become male before long and it could get ugly.

I've kept a terminal phase Lineatus and terminal phase Flame wrasse in a 6 foot tank with absolutely no problems.

The lineatus will be fine with the flames, but as saltyhog said wrasses don't form true prs, so when the female begins to transition there will likely be issues between the flames.

Interesting information! Thank you all for your input. Interesting how getting a mated pair of flames seems to be one of the more popular ways to go(if you can afford it), but I didn't know they don't form a true bonded male/female relationship. Thank you all for taking the time. Rich

Unfortunately a lot of vendors market wrasse "pairs". Hopefully they will keep up with science better in the future and we'll see better information coming from our LFS and on line vendors.

I had my flame pair and Lineatus together for over two years along with others without any problems just a lot of beautiful flashing. Will be doing it again just started back up my 75g
