Hey yall probably a easy answer, don't count me as ignorant because I am still learning! I have a nano tank (25g) only had it 5 ish months. I have 4 snails among my CUC, one of which has long White hair on it? Is this white algae? And if so is it good bad or indifferent? My other 3 snails do not have any white algae and I really don't see this anywhere else in my entire tank except this one snail, any info is helpful!

I'm not positive they are hydroids but it looks like them to me. Hydroids are not something you want in the tank but usually go away on their own in time

I would agree with Zach. It looks like a trocus covered with hydoids. You may want to pull that snail out and scrape the hydoids off of the shell the best you can. They tend to like lower flow so if your flow can be adjusted, upping the flow may help as well. They aren't really dangerous but they can be a nuisance.

Agree with hydroids
They are not terrible , or the worse to be found .
but they are invasive
Kinda interesting to see a shell covered in them though .
my first thought was some sort of feather duster worms attached to a snail shell .

Thabk you guys!!! I am going to keep an eye on it maybe clean him up it looks an worse. I appreciate yall helping me learn!
