Dearest R2R Family,
I would like to officially introduce myself, my name is Mindy and I am proud to call Todd my husband. As I woke up this morning and was getting myself and kids ready for work/school, Todd says to me baby you have to read this, and he had this look of shock on his face (for lack of better words) as he handed me the tablet. I sat down on the couch and read what was asked of me and I was in total awe of what I was reading. Todd has told me so very much about so many of you, and I just love getting caught up through him on what is happening and how everyone is doing and all the tank stories. I now completely understand why he refers to each and every one of you as his R2R family.
Todd, as I am sure you know was involved in a work accident taking him out of work last April. I am a nurse and have been working two jobs, going to school to complete my Masters in nursing (I have put this to the side for now), we have been raising 5 children and sadly we have been dealt our fair share of "blows" this past year. My health took an unexpected turn at the end of 2015 and the result is surgery to be done in Feb. We are hoping and praying that this is the only treatment that I will require but we won't know for certain until after the fact. Life has been a little challenging to the say the least.
As a nurse I am used to being on the taking care of side, not the one being taken care of. This is humbling to say the least. I always tell my patients have faith in what God's plan is and hand it over to the Lord. Find strength in his love, feel his loving embrace. There was a fleeting moment when I was first diagnosed, where I thought why me, but that thought quickly dissipated and I put all my strength in my love and faith in God. I live by the bible verse I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.....
On behalf of my self and my family I would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks for what you all are doing for my family. Words alone can not thank you enough for all the love and support being poured over us. Family is an amazing thing, even if the family consists of never meeting in person. You are OUR family.
God Bless each and every one of you.
Much Love,
The Williard Family
