So a buddy gave me some baby lettuce sea slugs. Everywhere I’ve looked says they mainly eat bryopsis which I don’t have in my tank. Currently they are in a breeder box in my frag tank and I get bryopsis from him to feed them. How would I go about getting bryopsis to grow in say a seperate breeder box to have a continuous food supply for them?

You do not want that stuff in your tank.

You get a a separate tank just for them. The tools you use on that tank is just for that tank.
That's all. You don't want this in your Coral display, it will spread.

The best way to make bryopsis explode in growth would be the next time you get some more to break it apart in the desired tank. To speed up growth ammonium chloride dosing should help. Wend you start noticing spores growing on the glass keep scraping it to carry on spreading it around. Ideally you want small pieces of LR in this tank for the algae to attach and easy way to feed the slugs.

Would it get enough light from the main display if I were to set up a small tank next to it just to propagate bryopsis? Or would the small tank need its own light?

If you want to maximise growth I’d use a separate light, you don’t need anything crazy strong, although try to keep it around 11k light spectrum

I would buy em off you if you wanted to ship as I have bryopsis, but they need bryopsis to survive and not worth putting bryopsis in your tank IMO.
