I got a superman monti, healthy looks great and not complaining. The thing is its spreading all over the place ! Cam it be stopped ? It was in the center of a 4 by 4 plate it's covered the whole plate n spreading to other rocks. What can I do, I like it but ......

Isolating encrusting montipora corals is the key.
Once they become established and start growing, they're almost impossible to stop.
I had a small frag of M. hoffmeisteri that was a slow grower so I placed it near another frag. Once it became established, it started growing like crazy. The encrusting montipora completely covered the nearby frag of M. spongodes and wiped out.
I really like my coral too, but I am keeping a very close eye on its growth and frag it as much as I can. (The coral plates out over the zoanthids that are next to it so I'm able to snap off the growth.

Your best plan of action is to chip away the coral and rock from where you don't want the coral to grow towards. If your able to remove the plate, try attaching the plate to a small rock that is movable or isolated from your other corals.

I had an encrusting overtake an entire rockscape in my reef. I had to redue an entire side of my tank just to get rid of it.

My garf bonsai lost round 1 to encrusting monti. I've been covering them with putty. I've heard kalk Paste works, but have never tried it
The larger bump on the sunset in my pic is the original frag. The sunset is running away from it.

I keep my encrusting corals (montiporas and others) in check using cyanoacrylate glue (frag glue). Every now and then I cover the edges that are going in the "wrong direction".
Good luck...

This is exactly why I have sworn off encrusting montis unless they are very isolated. Monti caps are also pretty invasive at times.

Use a mixture of 5-10% NaOH solution.Dissolve 10gram of NaOH (Caustic Soda) into 100ml of Osmosis Water.Shut down all streamersand use a 1ml injection needle to dose it into the border of coral. Also useful with valonia algae. Information from @glennf
