As he title states, I’m looking to supplement my two kessil a160 with a single t5 to help with a shadowing I have. Is it worth it or should I just turn up my lights?? TIA and tank info:

75g LPS/softie tank with a single pocillopora.
8dkh
480 cal
1380 mag
8.2 PH
1.026 salinity
.30 phosphates and coming down

Running chaeto in a reactor on separate cycles. No dosing until next week when I factor in my consumption

I have a 75g as well and I'm running 4 Kessils with a 2 bulb t5. I started with 2 Kessils and the t5 and added the other 2 Kessils when I started adding sps's to my tank. My Kessils are on a 12 hour schedule with the t5's on a 5 hour. The t5's come on an hour before the Kessils reach peak intensity and go off a few hours after. Turning up the intensity might help with the shadowing a little but might be too much for the corals. I would add the t5 if there is a lot of shadowing. Love the Kessil's shimmer thanks to the pinpoint light source but hate the shadowing.

That’s a gorgeous tank! I’ll be supplementing with a dual bulb 36” fixture in that case. Ill just raise my light arms all the way up and keep all my lower light corals on the sand bed if that’s the case

Thank you. It wasn't set it and forget it, I had to play around with the lighting but eventually I got it to were everything seems happy.

That’s never going to be the case with corals I’ve learned. All mine are extended, soaking up everything possible, and happy seeming. I just have a bit of shadowing because the way my rock structure on the right hand side is. My single lonely SPS has a bit of die off underneath some branches which I’m hoping to bring back. Other than that, it’s been crazy happy
