So I have a 75g that’s completely overgrown. There is some slight bleaching in spots due to corals over growing and blocking lights from corals underneath as well as just general shadowing. It’s a mixed reef with lps, sps, and softies. I have 2 gen 3 xr30 pros mounted to the canopy. I haven’t really paid much attention to the tank outside of general maintenance since my twins were born/conceived lol(2-3 years ago). Recently my 9 year old Has really gotten into helping me and wants to move the tank into his room to take care of it. The tank is coming up on 10 years in February. I purchased an apex and trident for my peace of mind to kind of keep track of what he’s doing/ not doing so it doesn’t get thrown all out of whack. I was contemplating on adding supplemental lighting like led light bars. I’ve been considering the 36” versions of the xho, the Reefbreeders, and the or3. Does anyone have any opinion on these lights. I don’t want the t5s. I got rid of mine 5 years ago and don’t want to go back but feel the need is there for at least one of these light bars possibly even 2. I was going to buy 2 or3 and get a blue plus and uv/violet But due to being discontinued could only find the blue and day one. Can anyone recommend a supplemental led strip and a combination that looks good together ( such as blue and 50/50, Uv/violet, blue+, purple+ daylight). What are your favorite combos to supplement my current setup. I would also be mounting these to the canopy which is about 7 inches to the water from the bottom of the xr30pros

I also know that the bleaching is normally to much light and browning is not enough light but the bleached spots I have on 3 of the corals In question are all in spots with shadowing from either being under a Monti or other corals. The rest of the bodies are perfectly colored just notice it in a few spots. I might only need one strip even. I have a bunch of sps as well that I feel would grow better with a bit more light as well and since I’m getting back into the hobby again I’d figure I’d make the tank work for what currently I’m most interested in.

Add a bar ir two:
Reefbrite
Orphek OR Series

Are you referring to the or3? Should I get 2 blue plus or a blue plus and a reef day plus. Also do I need a gateway to control the or3s or or2s.
Either 2 or 3 which amounts to 3 or 5 watts

Do i need a gateway for these or no. I know you know about Orphek products, do you know if they have plans for making a dimmer at all. Due to the canopy I only have at most 9 inches assuming the light bar is at least 2” high or more I’m looking at 7 inches from water with no dimming capabilities. If it is too mich light I won’t have much room to move it away. Does anyone else currently run them very close to the water because I read somewhere they are supposed to be 14” or something away from water surface

Neither require gateway or controller and 8” or higher would be sufficient and protect from splash
