Pro: less timeDoes anyone have any advice as to the pros and cons of using Tropic Marin’s All For Reef VS separately dosing for Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium?
Would it make sense to dose DAILY with AFR and as needed weekly with soda ash?I use both the thing about AFR is that the alkalinity is not instant results it uses Calcium Formate not Carbonate so it could take 8 to 12 hours for the alkalinity to adjust.
What size is your tank?Would it make sense to dose DAILY with AFR and as needed weekly with soda ash?
Totally depends on the consumption. What are your big 3 parameters after a water change and right before the next?Would it make sense to dose DAILY with AFR and as needed weekly with soda ash?
I was just about to ask that lol.Totally depends on the consumption. What are your big 3 parameters after a water change and right before the next?
Great minds, lolI was just about to ask that lol.
You know it!!Great minds, lol
Waterbox 180.5. I’m thinking about 150 gal of water. What size is your tank?
pH running a bit low. Just finished cycling and adding my first fish so it’s very early. And do you have good pH? AFR does not affect pH so if you are trying to raise that by dosing AFR it will not raise it, personally I dose AFR for the trace elements and use Kalk and a calcium reactor to maintain both calcium and alkalinity.
Well when you do start dosing I would stick to 3 part I use B-ionic 2 part and their Magnesium as supplemental to Kalk and a calcium reactor, AFR will not alone cover your tank without copious amounts of it. As stated above you shouldn't need any dosing in at least the first year water changes will replenish your minor and major elements. What was your last pH reading?pH running a bit low. Just finished cycling and adding my first fish so it’s very early.
Absolutely no need to dose anything right now! As stated above, IF you get to the point where weekly water changes don't meet the needs of your stony corals, THEN look into which things need to be dosed and decide on a product then.pH running a bit low. Just finished cycling and adding my first fish so it’s very early.

Is that during the day or at night?
That was in the morning with a Hanna test kit.Is that during the day or at night?
So safe to say probably high 8 to 8.1 at its peak? That was in the morning with a Hanna test kit.
