On an external overflow, what is the best way to support the drain pipes? Is it necessary? Thanks

I use pvc pipe for my plumbing. No knowing your set up... I would support to take stress off any connection you can. That is not always possible. My pipes run down the back of my 180, down through the stand, through the floor to the basement below. I have supports all over. I use basic pipe hangers or straps I have fashioned out of all sorts of materials. I even have used very large zip ties. The whole idea is to take any unneeded stress off of connections that are potential failure points as well as elbows and T's.

Is it overkill. Probably. I am sure some plumber will say it is not necessary. If you take a thoughtful approach, then you are adding good insurance from potential failure.

My two cents worth.

It's an Eshopps Eclipse.. the Large version so three 1" drains that are roughly 4 feet long each to sump..

I always add any suppirt be it pipe clamps or a simple zip tie tonsupport tubing to relieve pressure from bulkhead, as well as on any non supported pipe span.

Mine hang into the basement. This should help.
