Hi,

Can someone help me to understand:

1. Which will be the best way to mount the radion? Orientation 1 or Orientation 2?
2. At what percentage should i be running for 3-4 hours to achieve the right par? (for atleast 3-4hours in a day) ... Would it be 85% since the distance from light to bottom of tank is around 85cm/33inch ? I would like to start having SPS corals soon. Currently have a few Montis & LPS corals only.

I have attached 2 pics along with the tank sizing, depth of the tank and the distance between light and surface of water.

My tank is similar dimensions to yours 150 x 55 x 57.5cm. (LxHxW), so not quite as deep as your tank.
I use 2 XR30 gen 3 pros on each end with a XR30 gen 4 in the middle.
I'm running a modified A+B at max 42% for 4 hours mid day.
I've got branching motipora, digitata, pocilapora, stylophora, seriatopora, undata, millipora along the mid to upper tank.
The top of the bird's nest is about 5" below water line now and gets about 400 PAR.
I'm getting 75 - 150 PAR on the sand bed depending on position related to center of the pucks.
I run UV, RB, & Blue at 100%, white at 20 %, red & green 10%

I run config #1, but in your tank I would run config #2 to help with shadowing from the braces.

I hope that helps a little.

Heres a good little thread.

In short, your trying to get as much spread over the top of tank as you can.
Intensity iet in general with a par meter.you can also use a lux meter.
Different types of coral prefer different intensity, high med and low light. so that should be kept in mind on deciding the par range in your tanks.
For a low light tank, 300 par at the top is pretty acceptable, 500+ par for high light animals is pretty good.
