"Sure thing" corals

Me neither. My bicolor angel makes sure of it!!

Perhaps worthwhile for us to note which of the sure-thing corals are not appetising for centropyges and other semi-reef-safe fish.

Do they eat leathers, for example?

No love for pipe organ? It’s pretty funny reading these it’s exactly how I started as many reefers do - GSP, Kenya tree and Xenia. Quickly realized these take over fast and ended up removing them in favor of more challenging coral. Still have some of my original pieces of GSP, pipe organ and trumpets though.

You had a pretty good experience with trumpets? I was thinking about adding them. I'm a beginner.

Duncans are pretty easy and hardy.

That was one of the first corals I bought when I got back into the hobby little over a year ago. It’s been in 3 tanks since and is still kicking butt. Here it is when I first got it almost exactly one year ago.

You cannot say enough about that pop of color. This looks like the type of coral that would encourage a new reefer, getting to see such growth and color. I like that you have two colors next to each other. Do they show much aggression?

So far no, they are different species so technically they could sting each other but so far I haven’t seen any aggression. The green is sold as “nuclear green candy cane” and the other is sold as “beetlejuice trumpet”, the green one is in the Caulastraea family while the beetlejuice is in the Astraeosmilia family, which has larger polyps.

There is a teal colored one and a striped variety of candy cane corals that is the same as the nuclear green one.
