Right. In this case how do I release this trapped air lol how can I break everything up from what I’m already doingTake a glass of milk and a straw and blow. Same result? Trapped air
Less air being pulled in with less turbulenceRight. In this case how do I release this trapped air lol how can I break everything up from what I’m already doing
I have two up top making great flowNot enough flow to disperse or break the bubbles i would guess so they just getting pushed there then settle is a possibility.
But unsure how long they staying as bubbles?
Got any power heads pointed to surface for surface agitation and to help in gas exchange ?
This is one of the ways to help oxygenate the water ( dissolved oxygen we want) .
Saltwater doesnt hold as much water as freshwater so adding surface agitation or skimmers or any other way is great idea ( especially when worse happens and piece of equipment breaks)
Have you
Aw ok just re-read op,so you implemented higher surface flow and now getting more bubbles collecting at corner/s so waves in sea when waves crash down creates bubbles/white water so you have higher surface water breaking/then crashing down and creating bubbles ? If so would need dial back flow a bit ? Or aim flow different part of tank?
Perfect. I’ll probably move power head lower and the other at the surface still and see how that work maybe to much surface flow lolAw ok just re-read op,so you implemented higher surface flow and now getting more bubbles collecting at corner/s so waves in sea when waves crash down creates bubbles/white water so you have higher surface water breaking/then crashing down and creating bubbles ? It’s not so much an issue more of an annoyance knowing it shouldn’t be thereAre the bubbles causing any issues? I don't think it's worth too much time/effort to "fix" something that doesn't need to be fixed
They should be there! If salt water didn't hold bubbles like it does, our skimmers wouldn't work. There are many worse problems to haveIt’s not so much an issue more of an annoyance knowing it shouldn’t be there
True. But this isn’t excessive ? They aren’t popping cause of the protein holding them together longer then usual. But i dont know what more to do cause I have all good filtration skimmer is working in order. Only other thing I can think of doing is a larger water change to clean out the water lol i dont knowThey should be there! If salt water didn't hold bubbles like it does, our skimmers wouldn't work. Excessive would be the entire surface covered lol If everything else is fine, I wouldn't worry about the bubbles. I have a 10 gallon with 2 clowns and some anemones and it gets bubbles occasionally, they go away eventually (and come back sometimes lol)True. But this isn’t excessive ? Okay sounds good! I’ll let it be and hope they just go away on their own. Water column is free of debri and pretty clear Other then the surface where the bubbles are that roam up top and in corners and edgesExcessive would be the entire surface covered lol If everything else is fine, I wouldn't worry about the bubbles. good luckWell I don’t have a overflow system and return I just have a hob and protein skimmer so I don’t know if I need to increase flow at surface to help break the bubbles or what. Or if I need to just keep water excessively clean. Or just do a big water changeRandom flow nozzle on return outlet maybe ?
I think this is what there called but unsure proper name but the nozzles move left to right continously, just remembered someone long ago recommemded one for someone who had alot surface skim and with you saying above the bubbles not popping due to proteins holding them together. Just an idea for you to research to see if it would aid you.
