surfn's 50g cube tank

I would say yes on the Devil's Armor... :)

Devil's Armor and True AoG are two of my favorite pink morphs...

yeah, they are some of my favorite as well just b/c of how bright they are. you can see them from across the room. almost like becons.

are there any other zoas out there that have that wicked bright coloring to them?

sunshine palys are real bright orange in person...

the mother colony in jabol's tank glows even from far away

here is what my ORA Purple Pillow looks like currently. it browned out big time during the move, and you can see where it got stung by another coral on the top left where a branch is dead and has algae on it.

its b/w the size of a baseball and a golfball, growing quite nicely. it will be truely interesting to see how it colors up in this new tank, i've got it down pretty low, almost to the sand, in the front left corner of the tank, in indirect light. it looks like its already starting to color up and turn a pale green with light purple tips. i'm truely curious as to what it will look like in several months, as it tends to have different shades of colors in everyone's tanks.

i have another frag of it, but much smaller, on a frag mag in the very back all the way at the top.

here is what it looked like when i first got it, VERY different.

is it weird that my eyes go straight to the nuclear green colony?

my leng-sy cap seems to be doing alright, the edges aren't glowing as much as they used to....but the white polyps are very vibrant and contrasting now. which is interesting b/c sometimes the polyps will turn green when its not very happy for unknown reasons.

to be honest, they dont do much for me. but i dont have any other green zoas in my tank, so they will have to do.

once i free up a little more room, i hope to put them right beside my purple deaths since they look so much alike.

al, you're too cool for NGs? :happy2: looks like everything's settling in nicely in your new tank.

zombie eyes, and something else i dont know the name of. but i like them b/c they have a neon blue center with a pink circle around them.

the real deal Tyree Green Polyped Toadstool

i had another version of the green polyped toadstool, that i think came from ORA. they are DEFINITELY different. the tyree one just GLOWS, and will grow a large stalk. my other green one grew no stalk, and would grow in an asymetric odd way. no circular formity like the tyree one.

Sweet pics man and your tank is looking great! How are you liking the new set up?

thanks guys for the great comments.

its taking me a little slow to get pics of the sps, b/c i think during the move somehow all my camera settings went back to default. so i'm trying to get things back in the right exposure and focus.

and i seem to be having difficulties taking pics of things deeper in the tank, i just cant seem to get anything in focus.

anyways, i got a better pic of the ORA purple pillow and edited my post above with a newer picture of it.

and here is a picture of my Tubbs Horrida stag. its 1 of 3 true stags in my tank (including the ORA and Oregeon torts). its very skinny, and has a light purple base with green coralites and polyps. this is another i'm waiting to color up better.

update:

the other day, i looked at my frogspawn that i stuck in the back to get out of the way. and brown jelly covered the entire bottom. :(

the next day i looked at it and decided to frag it, i had already lost about 10 heads, bout half of what i had left after cutting it in half before the big move.

anyways, i cut off the infected and dead heads, all seems to be doing well now for several days.

and then my saramentosa acro colony decided to fall over onto my blue polyp plate and killed a good 3/4 of it. that sucked.

other than that, things are still going smoothly, just minor changes here and there. :)

frogspawn looks good now. no signs of any spread of infection or loss of heads.

i did take my micro's off the rocks i had them on though, they didnt seem to be doing well. so i glued them back onto discs and put them in the open sand bed so they could get more light and flow.

anyways, took another pic of some zoas i dont normally do much with. no clue what the name is, anyone got an idea?

they have a bright orange skirt, green center, and blue'ish specks in the center. had them 2+ years, and got them from twon8 i believe.

UPDATE 8-10-07 New full tank shots

i did some minor re-aquascaping again, and sold a couple sps that were taking up space. i'm pretty satisfied with how the *cleaner*, less busy look of the tank now.

at least i'm satisfied with the main tank, b/c i'm definitely not satisfied with just about everything going on in the sump.......grrrr

-can't get the skimmer dialed in to do much of any skimming
-all kinds of gunk building up in dead areas of the sump around the skimmer chamber
-cheato is dying and developing hair algae
-can't get much gph through the sump (my own design flaw)

i do have some good news though, i did fix my mag3 return pump. i ordered a new impeller unit, and now the humming/rattling is completely gone, and its as quiet as a bug. i think the grommets, and/or washers were completely worn out.

anyways, here's the new full tank shots.
