I have my quarantine tank with some aiptasia that a live rock had.
I was removing the aiptasia with boiling water and a syringe. works great.

In that thank also I have a Salaria F. and work great with some algae. But not with hair algae.

I had 2 spots with HA about 1 inch long and 1/2 diameter, and while I was killing the "devil" anemones, I figure, what if I add some boiling water to the hair algae like with aiptasia? so I did it.

The next day when I did my daily inpection of the tank, I get a great suprice...NO HAIR ALGAE on both spots. As you can see in the image. The white spots used to be full of algae.

So I grab the syringe and put some more boil water in other 2 places with hair algae...and bingo!...I found the Salaria removing both places. Great discovery! that I like to share with you guys! hope it helps.

Thanks for sharing the info!
I have 1 aptasia that I can not get covered with aptasiax
Will try to cook it lol

I have used boiling hot water to kill weeds in the garden, wonder why I never thought of this for hair algae, I mean it's just a plant!
Thanks for sharing!

Hope it helps for others and for every algae eater fish. Probably hot water will "cook" algae weeds and will become more .. digestive?
Will love to see other experiences...my salaria is now my new "algae" hero...with just a bit of help.:D
