mine is very happy where it is, it hasn't moved for 6 months so I don't have wave guards anymore!

It must be about 5 inch in size now and tips have gone from short tips to about an inch long . How long can they get

in full light waiting for food.. about 5 - 6 inch long, her diameter is about 6 inches, she's only 7 months old.

I have read they do split how often is that

As it came in as a small unseen hitchhiker, i'd guess it was about 2 weeks old when you got it.... yes when happy and growing fast they split themselves , they attach their skirt to rocks either side of themselves, and tear their mouths wider until in two, they then close up and repair for a week or so... looks horrible but its what they do to propagate..... timescales vary, depends on rate of growth, water stability and how often its fed too.

don't panic if it does close up for a day or two, or it hides under a rock, its a real living animal... it takes a little time to adjust to a new environment, but yours is looking good!

I'd be careful! Sometimes they'll be happy for years, and then just crawl into our sump hoping for certain death

she's had a good look about the tank and is in the absolute highest point! of course, no where near where I wanted her to be

As regards to covering the powerheads whats best to use

Ok just incase anyone is still following. The bubble part of bta is going a yellow colour tryed getting pics but not any good still looking rather brown is in pic

Ok jast a little more help . So the bta is soing fine loves the clown fish eats a couple misis twice a week. But the tentacles if thats qhat you call them are only around 3/4"long at the max is this normal . Oh and the top when fully open is around 3" now .
