Surprising! Vortech anti-sync behavior in "Ecosmart" modes

Your pumps are paired with each other in a master/slave relationship, that's the "child" thing.

Because your pumps are facing each other on opposite sides of the aquarium, set them to anti-sync. The exception is if the master pump is set to constant power - you'll want them to run in sync if you enable this mode.

You'll have to set the pump intensity based on the setting it's currently in, see @Potatohead's excellent description or earlier posts in this thread where the differences between "regular" and "ecosmart" modes are represented in graphs.
And also so if I understand you correctly the “Child” pump i have to turn to 100% to match the master that’s at 40 percent? Even in like lagoon and reef crest mode?

I would test it, but that's the way it worked before. They may have updated it since I last programmed all my stuff, maybe 2-2.5 years ago.

You can use NT and TS modes, no problem, you just won't have the pumps on the back doing their thing, which is no big deal.

Personally the only actual paired pump mode I use is Tidal Swell, for 2.5 hours a day. Each ecosmart mode takes 75 minutes to complete, then it flips and does the mirror image the other way for another 75 minutes. Otherwise I leave all pump on independent Reef Crest at varying intensities depending on day or night. Then I also use constant 100% for a few minutes a couple times a day and that's it.

Hmmm I think I’ll give my schedule a shot see how the corals react. Before I just had them in random reef crest mode and had master/slave but now with Mobius in the mix it opened other options for me to play around with. I was checking out other ppl modes and settings and came across the one I’m going to try only cause it made sense as there are several different flow patterns in the mix which would mimic the ocean. I was however considering Ecotechs recommendation on one pump changing from constant to reef crest several times through the day and the other pump from reef crest to constant Several times so the two pumps are never the same if that makes sense.

So I FINALLY was able to "connect" my 2 MP40QDs to Mobious (what an adventure! o_O) My question: Am I overlooking the "at will" feed mode? I see where I can program a feed mode … but I feed at different times of the day and wonder if I'm missing something on the APP?

I had a hard time with one of the two MP40s I ended up hard resetting the one that wouldn’t pair if I had to guess it had something to do with slave/master. My recommendation before attempting Mobius is to hard reset pumps. Haven’t tried feed yet last time I did it off the vectra it put all Ecotechs in feed mode. I noticed a feed mode button in the app I think
