I am not sure that is entirely true (I am not an expert on Anemones) but Clowns will pick a large variety of things as a host including coral, rocks, algae, tank corners, etc lol. Some never choose a host at all and do fine.

One of my clowns is being hosted by a torch coral... and the other one is trying to host in one of my zoa colonies:confused:.

from your other post it sounds like your tank is new and I hate to be the one , but an anemone at this stage in the game would most likely result in a bad outcome . A clown fish is a great starter fish , fairly hardy and can handle some fluctuations, an anemone can not. The clown will be fine and happy without one for the time being as you get your feet wet and your tank stabilizes more . I wouldn't recommend putting an anemone in a newly established tank no matter how seasoned of a reefer you are. enjoy this hobby and go slow , your tank will thank you. So many people get into this hobby and are quickly frustrated because things start dying and get out because they cant keep things alive and their tanks were up for a couple of months. Hardly enough time for things to establish . I'm setting up a new 75 gallon from scratch , new rock , new sand , new water. I wont put anything in that tank for over 30 days and even after that start off with a small clean up crew and wait a few weeks. Then a small fish or one of my "easier corals" from my frag tank. Patience cant be stressed enough. Once your tank hits the 5-6 month mark it starts getting more of a groove almost , other reefers Im sure can tell you . We put things in our tanks nothing really happens. Maybe some growth not much , things look OK holding steady , and BOOM tank is in growth mode . But yes I enjoy seeing a clown host an anemone , very relaxing . So the goal here is to keep that clown alive until your tank is mature enough to keep an anemone.
