Aren’t red bugs supposed to be exceptionally small?

I suggest changing some water. It seems to help gonioporas when they close for an extended time.

I did my weekly 10 percent yesterday, also gave the goni a dip, probably just out of panic, and about four very tiny red bugs came off so small you can barely see them, also a few normal pod looking coloured bugs, the polyps today are a little more open but not extending, i will just leave it alone now as ive read alot about them not taking well to being messed with. Thanks for the reply

I never dealt with red bugs, so hopefully someone else can chime in. Good luck and keep us posted.

Ive had red bugs but they never bothered my gonis before. Interceptor is a good treatment though if you also see red bugs on your acropora

I dont have any acros, im only just venturing into lps from soft as ive only recently developed a better grasp on water conditions. i do have high phos, the lfs said the goni is likely not to open with my phos being high, everything else with water is on par, today i added phosgaurd to the sump, and im not missing any water changes as i used to do, hopefully the phos levels will come down and give me better results overall. Thanks

Just make sure not to bottom out your phosphates, ive had worse problems with too low than too high phosphates. Though, it matters how high your phosphates are.
