Swabbie - How often do you clean your skimmer cup?

As the title suggest, let us know how often you clean your skimmer cup if you use a Swabbie neck cleaner.

every few days ,I don't get the swabbie it cleans the neck so foam can raise easier but now you have this big obstruction in the way of the foam getting to the top and seems like that would just become full of gunk and drop it back into the water

What obstruction do you mean? the paddle?

I can go from a month to two months although it's pretty nasty if it goes to two months. I typically clean the cup when my medium size Davey Jones locker fills up which is around 3-4 weeks. Without the locker the cup would fill in a few days.

If you're cleaning weekly you're completely missing the point of the swabbie...

I clean mine every 1-2 months and it's usually just because the outside of the neck in the collection cup gets gunked up or the walls of the cup. Only really cleaning to make it easier to see the level, otherwise I would just let r rip tater chip! Every cleaning the inside of the neck is basically spotless.

When I add water, I visually check the cup and dump as needed

This is pretty much what i'm doing. Wish there was a way for it to clean the outside of the neck and the cup wall haha!

It's nice to see inside the cup, but doesn't the matter on the walls help other particulates stick to the collection cup?

Completely agree. Ive got the Avast version and its wonderful. Even have it hooked up to the apex so when the sensor trips it send me an alert telling me the container is full of muck!
