Hey Everyone! I’ve been a long time reefer, but am just returning to the community after a four year hiatus. Glad to be back! Anyhow I had a 110 gal sps system thriving before my departure, but I thought it a good idea to start back up with something smaller scale until I find my old groove.

Anyhow the goal of the system is to maintain a thriving sps dominant nano reef, in a fairly minimalist system without the use or need of a sump.

On to the hardware!

Tank: Aquamaxx rimless 32gal

Lighting: Exotech Radion Xr30 w Rms mount (Corallab Sps 14k light schedule)

Flow: Ecotech Mp10 (reefcrest mode)

Skimmer: Tunze 6004

Filtration: Tunze Comline 3163 retrofitted with internal heater and fx pro filtration media

ATO: Tunze nano ozmolator

I already had all the equipment on hand expect for the tank itself, once it arrives and I get the hardware setup I’ll upload photos!

Looks like a great build. Tunze stuff seems to last forever:)

I pulled a salty tunze 6065 out of an old box that hadn’t been ran in probably 6 years and it still works like a charm! Def a brand that you get what you pay for!

Quick update!

The tank will be delivered on Wednesday, so J plan to have all the hardware setup by next weekend. A friend and fellow reefer was kind enough to offer me some live rock and 30 gal of water out of his established tank so I can skip the cycling process! So we should have a functioning reef within the next 2-3 weeks

Tank showed up a day early, got all the equipment set up and sand added, we’ll go pick up livestock and sand tomorrow!

Great start! Big Tunze fan as well, have a 6101 turbelle stream still kicking that's 15+years old!
Does the comline filter surface skim?

Also, where did you get the stand ? how many lbs is that stand/rack made for ? guessing its more solid than it looks?

I'm probably going to be setting up an smaller SPS cube very similar to yours in the near future so I'll be watching this build for ideas for sure.

The stand is called a muscle rack, rated for 800 pounds and there available at most local hardware stores, great deal and I like the minimalist look.

The tunze does surface skim, impressive little thing honestly

Reef update:

Calcium has been raise to 380 using reefcode A and B over the last two days. I stopped by the LFS yesterday and grabbed a dozen massive turbo snails and a Lightning Clown

Anyone have tips for using their iPhone camera to take decent pictures? Is there a certain setting I can use when photographing the tank that will improve clarity?

There’s an app people use but I can’t remember what it’s called. Snapseed is a free app you can use to take the blue out. I think at this point most people just have coral filters like the polyp lab clip.
