I use my QT for both SW and FW, but I've only done it once. When I first got it I used it as a SW QT for a YWG. When he moved out I sterilized and cleaned everything with bleach so the Cardinal Tetras I was getting would be safe. I'm getting ready to transfer back to SW for clowns, and was wondering if I needed to bleach or if I could just wipe dry, use some vinegar water on equipment and tank and wipe everything down really well? Do freshwater diseases transfer to SW?

Fresh water diseases do not transfer to SW. Though @Humblefish did recently run into some worms with black mollies that lived in SW I believe. I got a 2nd QT tank last year from my brother that was his FW tank, I just gave it vinegar bath and let it air dry for a few days. Used it many times since no issues.

Awesome. So I'm good to go straight from Cardinal tetras to Clowns?

Bad wording on my part, I always clean it with vinegar and let it air dry between batches of fish. Usually dries in a day or two in my basement and with summer, can stick it outside and will be dry in an hour if that.

If cleaned well with vinegar between uses you should be fine.

I’d be more concerned about the beneficial bacteria (which can be easily aided with biospira or dr tims ;))

I would clean everything with vinegar, let it air dry for a few days and then you should be good to go. :)
