Hi, I have an SWC 160 Skimmer and I'm looking for a replacement pump for it. anyone have any experience with this brand. I'm having issues with it being loud and air intake. please post how you solved your problems.

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Hold on here folks. I've had an SWC 160 for years and it doesn't take a Sicce....unfortunately. I've posted in the past for anyone having luck finding a replacement for the stock pump....an Atman 2500. I've lost count on how many I've gone through....they are POC!!!! Being a backup fanatic, I had purchased two pumps. When one crapped out, I put in the second one, and it was dead from the get-go. Too much time had passed to get a refund. If someone knows of another pump that will fit, I'm all ears.
You won't get any help from SWC....pretty much out of business since the CEO/owner was arrested....years ago.
Knock on wood....and I probably shouldn't say anything, but I've gotten over a year out of the current Atman.
EDIT TO ADD: Just checked Amazon, and this isn't a bad price for an Atman....$55.....HERE.

It's a shame, I have the same skimmer and it's built so well, love the skimmer, but my pump is kinda noisy, not real bad, but it's the only part of my tank that makes any noise.
I've yet to find an easy resolve, might have to suck it up and get a new skimmer, but it kills me to toss such a quality made skimmer...
Been eyeballing the NYOS, pretty darn quiet...

I will say one thing....I think the Atman's have improved the past couple years. At one point they were going out of business....this is when BM redesigned their skimmers to take alternate pumps....Sicce's for the most part. And before you knew it, Atman was back in business with what appears to be a better quality pump. No guarantees, but the recent pumps appear to last longer. I'd give a new pump a shot. Then again, I'm probably on my seventh or eighth pump.
