So my pump is starting to give out I think. It's making a lot of noise and not producing many bubbles. I soaked it in hydor magi klean. I'm not real handy so I need something that I don't have to Mod. Any idea to fix the atman or best replacement?

There is no ther pump that will fit in that skimmer. I had to replace mine, and fortunately never had some of the issues that others have had with restart issues. I have found that the skimmer and pump like a good cleaning about every 2-3 months. This makes it operate much better. Also when you screw the bubble diffuser back onto the pump put some teflon tape on the threads on the pump.

Guess I'll just have to buy another atman

Not sure where I seen this but the atman 2500 is the same as the via aqua 2600. Not sure how this would relate to any problems, but i figured I'd throw it out there.

Interesting John!

The Atmann right out of the skimmer looks like this:

When I looked up the ViaAqua, I see this:

And my first thought is that you must be smoking something.

Then I noodle around and find this picture of an Atmann 2500:

So my guess is that you get rid of that 1957 Buick front end on this thing, you’re left with the first picture above.

Good find John, at half the price!

Seems risky to order one and it not work. And what kind of propeller does it have? Wonder if the old propeller will fit?

Sorry to hear this . I just sold a brand new pump this past Friday .
Southern tropical sells replacement pumps for the BM Nac7. It is an Atman 2500 pinwheel type impeller . It has a little less umph than the SWC impeller . They do carry a mesh wheel impeller but it is sold by itself .
It is possible that the mesh has worn away it if was not cleaned frequently . It is proly out of balance now .
Be careful, if you open up the pump to check the impeller . You can crack that intake cover pretty easily . Take your time putting it back together.
. If it is out of warranty get in contact with Luck @ Reef Filtration . He is closer to you .
He sells the pumps and the impeller's too .
HTH

I just remember where I seen it. It was on the reef filtration threads. I'll see if I can find the exact thread. In fact I think it was Luke from Reef Filtration that mentioned it.

+1 I remember that thread too. I also agree with dowtish that the impeller would be incorrect .The 2600 is a water pump. If the op's impeller is the issue that 2600 won't help .

Yes but Luke sells a Modified impeller, and so does SWC for that matter. The shaft would be the same.
