Wow, I guess a live rock fence might filter the air in his lawn..replace his lawn with 8ft deep aragonite while your at it...he can quarantine chichlids in his lawn in the summer after a rain. That is a funny excuse...and why would indonesia be selling fence rocks?
By the way, when these things happen, this is how they get reef tanks in gov't funded buildings...theres a rock ward in new delaware and they only take monopoly money.
In no way do I condone mass rock removal from any ocean...however in a law standpoint, it all makes no sense.
I understand that certain countries are not allowed to export certain things, and we are not allowed to accept certain things from various places either.
However....in a world that uses logic (not reality)....if indonesia thinks its ok to mine pet rocks, that is their business...however we (humainty) have a right to contest and pursuade them not to in a non lethal way.
If a highly resourceful aquarium filtration making canadian wants to purchase something from another country that has already taken the rock out of the water and deboed all the life forms with their methods of transporting...etc...it might actually be a better idea than letting the indonesians keep the rock.
In my 2 looneys, I think that in desperation of not paying his bills, he hit up craigslist worldwide and found a deal that may have saved his company, and may even have led to better filtration methods, thus leading to a more likely chance of mass reef containment and possibly ways of cleaning our oceans mechanically. We gubjumnubberd the seas soo bad I wanna vomit on a whale just to prove a point to the rest of the ocean killers out there.
Part 2 of the theory: At the time of the import checks, the gov't was installing a giant marine research center/..."lair". They have been trying to figure out which corals you have to eat together for immortallity so my children do not have to learn chinese if we vote for the wrong president...(charlie murphy).. well they noticed the ship came in with just enough rock for their zoanthid colony. They met up with him and slapped him with a good one, bought a skimmer, and went back to start gluing. I'm guessing they use uranium based lighting...probably powered by dreams and gov't cheese for the gov't mice on wheels attached to the powerheads on all the tanks...it was in tropical fish magazine last week....or was that when I was dreaming...the middle part probably wasn't in either places. This guy is the chong of the marine hobby. Similar shaped bubbling objects and things affiliated with them got them both in trouble hahah....bad news for them...
