I took this pic of some sweeper tentacles being extended from my candycane this morning. Lots of corals in the pic. I'll give a plug nickel to anyone who can ID all of them. :nerd:

candy cane
digitata
mushrooms
frogspawn
toadstool leather
zoanthids

Looks like something in the bottom of the pic above the mushroom and between it and the candycane. Not sure if it is a coral polyp or a filter feeder.

Maybe wrong but I think those would be considered pally's from what I can see. Some people put them as the same coral, but prices seem to change being called one or the other.I think you named them all.Can you identify the zoa/paly?

Nice work zaozao! Yeh, the little feather duster worms resemble coral polyps.
Don't spend your nickel all in one place.

By the way, just what IS a plug nickel? I've heard of them but I've never seen one that I know of, unless it's the knock-out from an electrical box.

I have read that back when coins were actually worth their weight in precious metal (the late 1800's), occasionally someone would drill out the center of a coin to get the metal and then plug the hole with lead. Of all the coins this was done with, a nickel had the least value, and when it was plugged with lead, it had no value at all.
FWIW (probably not a plug nickel)
