Hungry fellas!!!
Nice shot, my pink milli does this 24/7, some I feel, based on your flow pattern in that given area, sort of take on an upwelling if you will, perhaps in the near path of detritus stirred up stimulates a feeding response.
My hunch :)

Yeah I’ve never seen them out during the day like that.. I was smashing some vermited snails and blowing the rocks off… the Walt and speciosa are like 6” apart and both put out some long stingers… curious what will happen in 6 months or so when they grow closer together.. the Walt was reaching out with a couple about a inch and a half long at one point.

Typically what I have found is they will be fine until they touch. Once they touch, one will win. In most of my tank, one will die off where they touch, but often times will grow past the touching. The one that wins the war, will encrust over the other, but I have never found any to outright kill an entire colony.

I did have an ugly brown acro(forget the name now) that killed a SSC colony, but that was more of it outpacing it in growth, and it just smothered the SSC.

Yeah it will be awhile.. the Walt seems to grow at a decent pace.. the speciosa, I haven’t had them do anything but barely encrust over 6 months.. seems to be super sloooooooow growers lol.. that is a newer one thou so maybe it will have a different pace once settled in..
