Recently got a Tomini Tang for my 75 gallon tank. He was put in a 40g QT along with a Coral Beauty Angel, Melanarus Wrasse, Fire Goby and a Neon Dottyback. First night everything was great did a slight water change as I was changing the water in the Display Tank and I had made too much so I decided to change out about 10 gallons out of the 40g. Next day I noticed the Tang was having trouble holding himself upright. I observed for the day and it got a little worse. I moved the tang to a 10g QT tank that i set up really quickly (filter isnt seeded but i added seeded bioballs to the tank). I dosed with Stress Guard and observed. Been almost a week and he is still struggling. I have been thawing mysis and brine shrimp and mashing peas and putting it in a syringe. I then gently guide the fish with my hand and sort of hold him upright and squirt the food towards his mouth and he is eating.

Am I just extending the inevitable or is this curable? I havent seen too much information online when it comes to saltwater fish who have Swim Bladder Disease. Im assuming either he was attacked or the water change stressed him way out and caused this. I dont think its a parasite at the moment.

Is this a waste? any advice would be great.

Evening,

How is he doing? Can you post a pic so we can see what he looks like. Is there any other issues besides the swimming?

I appreciate it. Quick question, is it a thing that my tank is too new to have a tang? Someone in a FB group said tangs need to go in to a mature tank and I haven’t heard of that before. My tank almost 3 months old and has cycled so it was odd to me. I always heard tangs were pretty hardy fish
