Wow that's a lot lower settings than what I'm running. I need lux meter. My lights are 10" off the water i think

I just switched out 2 32 reefbreeders v1's for kessil ap700's and love it. After having both over the tank it was well worth the cost just for the visual. Even the wife has made a few comments on how much she likes the way the tank looks now.

I swapped out my V2 (I had added T5 supplement for shadowing and look) for 2x Kessil 360N's and love my lighting now. I can't speak about the Ecotech lights as they're about the only light I've never tried. But from personal experience, I've had the best growth under AI Hydra's and GHL Profilux. The best balance between look and growth has been under Kessils. Soon after I switched, my coral all "perked" up and are opening more fully and encrusting/growing much faster.

Please keep in mind that my photons are over a zoa / nem / shroom tank now. The ratio of the lights is the more important aspect, so dial up as you see fit.
I wish the controller wasnt such a PITA to make adjustments. A simple over all intensity would make our lives easier.

Since this is an old thread, i reread a portion of my main response, however im slammed at work to read anymore at this time. I do want to make 1 correction.
Jason Fox indicated he runs actinic T-5's and reefbrite strips in addition to 250 MH. (he had indicated in the video that had 450 / 500 MH but didnt use those)

To provide an update, the best system that i've used for growth and for color / overall aesthetic for my SPS / LPS tank is by far T-5's (3 blue+, 1 purple+) and radion g4 pro's
This is in comparison to kessil / photons / hyrdas / and common t-5 starter fixture that i forget the brand

A good friend is having excellent growth with T-5 with reefbrite strips, IIRC 6 bulb t-5. he got rid of his kessils. Coloration of his corals is great.
The only slight negative is the lack of spectrum control and tuning of the blues at evening.

I know there are some people who like kessil's and im not trying to be insulting nor want to get into an internet argument (every tank is different) and the kessil shimmer is amazing.
With that said, i dont care for kessil and most of my local reef group friends dont like them as well.

I have on hand Hydra 26 / kessil h series and maxspect lights. (i use a Hydra over my tube nem / hellfire nem / display macro fuge, others are in a bin for emergencies and professional dust collecting).

Interestingly i find that I prefer the aesthetics using the photons over my zoa tank. For some reason the colors just pop more with the photons as opposed to radions. I have no explanation.
