I figured I would cut my loss's and go with the herbie overflow and make it super quite. I just have a few questions.

1) Im going to use my existing bulk heads ones 3/4 ones and inch. I already have the inch one plumbed with a gate valve into the sump. Can I use this for the over flow and the 3/4 for the emergency or should it be the other way around.

2) How high should the full siphon pipe be in the box or does it not really matter.

3) Is there any advantages to hard piping the new return back over the top of the tank? It hard lined now and I was going to try to sneak it back up into the overflow box over the back. Should I just cut it off from the pump and run a soft line up to the back or should I hard line it. I have no problem doing it both ways just want to do it the best way.

Worked for me as I'm having problems tuning my herbie. Does anyone know what's the minimum height difference between the emergency and main drain can be. Not sure if my 10gal sump can handle 6+ inches of water flow in the event of power outage or pump failure.
