Couple questions and concerns NEED SOME ADVICE

ok old lighting setup was 6t5 2 vho all 48 inch

new is radion g3pro 1 for now but will be getting other soon

im running at 50% and its no where near the brightness of my t5,everyone keeps telling me to start low at like 35% but 50% isnt close so i know 35% will not work, Am i missing something , I'm all sps... light is 10 1/2 inches from top water, 24 inch deep tank but most sps are halfway up to top of water..

Should i just stay at 50% for a week and see, I don't want to lose colors being not enough light?

Any help would be great
thanks

The light should have a acclimation mode. Led looks less bright but it's such a narrow beam that you can burn corals. I would keep running the vhos along with the radions.

What you've said is why I'm running leds plus T5's to supplement with...

Don't let your eyes fool you. Those Radions at 50% are putting out a TON of PAR.

I wouldn't worry so much about too little light, instead I'd be worried about too much much. I use the acclimation program and it has been very helpful

be carefull with those radions. you can burn your coral if ramping it up too high . they are some strong leds.

its hard to find graph schems for the radions. i feel like no one ever shares them . lol , good luck . ! beautiful tank man! >.<

I've had mine up (Gen 3s) for two months and am just now up to 50% at peak.

Patience is key with LEDs

I'm 2 radion pro and 4 ati t5 running pros at 60% with SPS dominated over 120 gal I would put t5 back if possible and switch to led only slowly for about 6 months
That's just my opinion

+1.. I don't have radions but LEDs can hurt lol. My LED fixtures put out 1600+ par 6" into the water at 100% 12" above the water.

It's better to brown them out for a while then burn the tips-pros are really good with that
I would start with 40% or just put them on acclimation mode

you would think if they were getting burned the polyps wouldn't come out,
cause it seems to me i have better extensions Id hate to lose any i have from making this switch

Need better camera.. but the light is right above the neon green acro. Also not to keen of shadows

If they don't like it the polyps shouldn't come out, looks like they are really happy, but look at them closely for next couple of weeks
I remember the day when increasing intensity for 5% and didn't pay attention hurt my red dragon badly but they more sensivity I guess
Btw very nice system

Yeah im gonna watch closely,
Lucky I work from home and the tank is right behind me and im always watching.. Sometimes its a bad thing(dont get no work done)

I have 2 Radion X15 on a shallow reef tank and I am starting on 15% and will slowly work up watching my corals.......so far so good

Question. ..what mode did you start / have it in.

My buddy a photographer brought his light sensor(we were curious ) and showed me it was brighter deeper than the t5s I had, even at 50%.

After 2 adjustments in % over a 6 week period I am now at 65%....the growth/coloration is amazing.

I turned it up to 100% just to see and I needed sunglasses. ...I would have fried my frags.

Radios are amazing, I am saving up the get 3 of the XR 30 pros this next yr.
