Been looking for a quality switched outlet bar to use for my reef equipment. Any recommendations?

DJ Strips are awesome. Search for something like this:

I’ve looked at a few of these. Do you use this one? Read some reviews on a few just hard to tell what your getting.

I used to use them when I first started and loved them. The only reason I'm not still using them is I ended getting a controller. In my opinion, there are certain things that are actually easier using a simple switch than messing around with a control panel.

In fact, I still have one on my mobile QT/Frag system. I love them.

Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip, Surge Protector w/ 6 Smart Outlets and 3 USB Ports, Works with Alexa Echo & Google Home , No Hub Required (HS300)
I like these but would rather have something manual as WiFi goes out from time to time

Agree. I’m in the process of setting up my 210 DT and looking for something simple. Plan on getting an Apex down the line but still plan on keeping some things on a simple switch.

Let me suggest starting a build thread for the new 210. It's a great way to share your journey, ask questions and most importantly, keep track and look back at your own progress.

I use the DJ american power strip now and have had them in the past. Work well. I would recommend them as well unless you're setting up a controller with it's own power bar.

I use an APEX but also use an American DJ strip for those things that aren't connected to the APEX. Works like a charm.

Good to get a few good reviews before making a purchase. Thanks all

Will try and do that soon

I've actually had better luck with the Eliminator E107 than the DJ Powerstrip. I had to get the DJ strip replaced under warranty twice because of outlets burning up. They honored the warranty, but I went without while waiting and had to send old one back. The Eliminator has been going strong for several years now with zero issue.

I’m mostly happy with them so far except I found out the the outlets couldn’t handle the output of my 2 500w heaters ran through a inkbird controller. First time just thought it was a fluke. 2nd time a few days later I realized something wasn’t right. Plugged it directly into the wall and has been fine since.

I've been out of the hobby for several years now, but people have been recommending the American DJ for over a decade. I'm not sure about Amazon as a source, since like you said it's hard to tell what you're getting, but they've been the top choice for a long time.

Is the American DJ power bar a surge protector?

I don't believe they are surge protectors, but you may want to wait for others to confirm. They do have a circuit breaker though.

Thank you! Trying to decide between that and this.

I would go with the Tripp lite it’s a surge protector which I believe the dj’s are not
