Switched over from biopellets to carbon dosing for about a week now and my skimmer start producing a whole bunch of bubbles inside the skimmer cup that doesn't want to pop. This skimmer cup was just cleaned a week ago, right when I started carbon dosing.

How should I correct this? I'm thinking the skimate might be too dry, should I increase water level to make it wetter? Currently the water level is midway up the neck.

I'm using a mix of 5 part vinegar, 3 part vodka, 2 part rodi approx.

For my 150 tank, dosing about 18ml daily, high nitrates and phosphates.

It definitely looks dry to me. I would consider raising water level until you achieve desired skimate wetness. I like mine a little wetter than that but that’s just me. The Possibly of higher nutrients in the water might be the cause of if being thicker.
