I'm upgrading the 90g to a 200g in a couple of weeks so I decided to move on down to the "cheaper" stuff. I ordered the 200g box from amazon and was pretty happy when I saw that the salt was packaged in four separate bags instead of one giant bag. Cheaper and will be easier to store!:eek::eek:

It hasn't seen any water yet but so far I'm digging it.

I have the same stuff, I am moving to a from a 55 to a 180 in about 2 weeks. Looking forward to it.

Many of the best reef tanks in the world run IO salt.

That's what really convinced me to do it. The separate bags were just a bonus. I think I can even vacuum seal any open bags with my food saver.

First like to point out that it's not "cheaper", but just less expensive! :D

I'm an IO user and agree with @Waters above.....buy the salt that mixes closes to the numbers you are trying to keep.

When I do water changes, I want regular old ocean water....I'll do the alk and calc add myself. IO meets these needs as a "quality" salt. Great salt with years of history and thousands using it.

There is nothing wrong with IO mix. I ran it for almost 4 years before changing to Fritz. The only reason I switched is their alkalinity matched closely to where I want to keep mine. The added bonus is I never have to dose magnesium any more.

Yeah, I bought the 200 gallon box, too. I planned on using it in my Fish Qt tank for all those frequent water changes. I use Red Sea Coral Pro in my DT. But now, after using the IO, I'm leaning toward the IO when my supply of RS runs out. I really like how easily the IO mixes.

I use IO salt also and the 200 gallon boxes, it's easier because I make 50 gallons at a time, the single bags to the trick..
