Switched to tropic marin pro reef salt

So I just switched over to tropic marin pro reef salt... Havent started using it yet, but have a new carx on the way and was planning on using this salt to avoid alk spikes when doing water changes... has anyone used this mix before with their reactors and if so how do you like it... aiming for 9 dkh 450 ca and 1375 mag... any input or reviews would be greatly appreciated... I have 2 growout tanks... 1 is all sps and the other is all lps and softies...

Haven’t used it with a reactor, but I use it. It’s great stuff.

I used to use Reef Crystals for Years and everything was fine for a NON-SPS only tank.

However when I started up a SPS only Tank, I wanted lower ALK levels (7.5-8).
The Few salts available at the time (or known to me) had much higher ALK 10-11dKh. And what was worse alk would SWING on each bucket/box purchase.

To me having a salt with ALk close to my tank (or lower which could be raised) was important since I've had times where I wanted to do a Significant water change.
For example if for some reason a 50% or higher Water change is needed, using a Salt with High Alk would be (somewhat risky).
I did learn from a LFS owner that he USED TO USE higher Alk Salts, and brought it down with a touch of Muratic Acid. He doesn't do that anymore.

That's why I switched to Tropic Marin Pro. Mostly for Alk. I also did a couple of ICP tests on Tank (last was a month ago) and each time result came back perfect.
So I've come to trust the TMP mix (for Elements and Alk), and with a new SPS Frag only 110G Tank, I'm hesitant to use anything else.
The only thing I don't like about TMP is the PRICE.

I did discover that the Red Sea Blue Bucket Salt has an ALK of 7.5, so something I will consider since price is better.

I just switched from Red Sea blue to tropic marin, so far I really like itmixes clean alk was right where I wanted it..Red Sea was fine but I just didn’t like I had to dose for mag almost every day

I certainly expect this mix is fine (as is almost any name brand salt mix), but it is also easy to lower the alk in any mix to the levels you desire. Many folks do that lowering.

It’s a reputable salt. I run 7-8 dkh and still use IO and RC for water changes. Alk tends to stabilize quickly and I don’t seem to register a net spike after a day or so

I just switched for Red Sea as I did not care for the white residue that my mixing tank and auto water change lines was experiencing with the Red Sea salts.
