Switching Controllers from Apex to GHL

@ReefGoddesss
I followed step 19 of this thread when I calibrated my pH probe. I should also note that you should be using a 7 and 10 fluids. I was helping someone the other day and they had a 4 and 7 reference solution.... which will make it a little off.

Firmware updating should be done via the GCC windows software. I would do that before calibrating probes and whatnot. While in there, you can also connect it to myGHL, your home wifi, etc. Oh! When updating firmware, your powerbar is up to date already!

Overall, I followed this thread when I setup my GHL system and followed the same steps in the order Ditto did.

Good luck and you have got this

Thanks a bunch! I will look back here to find Ditto’s notes on step 19. I just checked the 2 calibration solutions....you were right: it came with a 4.0 solution in a reddish color and a 7.0 solution in a greenish color. I wonder why they didn’t include the 10.0 solution.

It's for freshwater, yeah, puzzling ;) Any 10.0 sample will work, usually your LFS etc should carry the Miluwakee packets.

Can I still safely calibrate using the included 4.0 and 7.0 calibration fluids for now until I get a 10.0 packet of calibration fluid, correct?

Quick note about backing up/restoring settings and firmware updates.
This is the last thing which can't be done via GHL Connect (app, web interface, cloud) yet and for what GHL Control Center still must be used.

But we are currently working on it, in the next weeks we will see a huge GHL Connect update with which you can update your ProfiLux 3 and 4 and connected PAB-devices firmware and which offers all backup functions. PAB firmware updates through P3 is already implemented in the current beta-version, rest follows ASAP.

Hey Mathias while your here can I ask when are you going to release a video showing the ion director taking a reading. I have never paid for a product in full without seeing at least one video of it action.

Awesome look forward to it!

I understand what you are saying, I intend to do this once we have all final parts out of the series production, e.g. we expect the first batch from sensors coming from the company, who makes the sensors acccording to our specs, end of next month. But please let us not hi-jack this great thread, this is too much OT.

That's great to hear!

Woop!

That's the first that I've heard that. I always thought that it was strange that it was 7.0 instead of 10. GHL doesn't even sell 10.0 solution on their website.

Yes. Though it will likely read a little higher until you calibrate for the reef tank range. The GHL fluids are also good for a year per emails with GHL USA.

You can use whatever fluids, but you do have to change the value of the fluid you are calibrating with. For example, when if asks for the 9.0 solution, you can change it to 10.0. As for the effect on probe readings... minute decimal places.

On my way

I will get rid of at least 9 pcs of 24 V adapters and nearly the same amount of 12 V adapters.

Sincerely Lasse
That is a amazing piece of work, Lasse!! I have been trying to wrap my head around controlling a couple 12 and 24v devices with ghl that I use on apex before making the switch. I think this pushes me in the right direction. Thank You.

Thank you! That is the "basic" setup, but I believe there is a trick to run them from Illumination programs & mimic the Ecotech functions with them. I believe @Ditto has done this, it's just I'm too lazy to go through this whole thread again:))
Maybe try the search function at top if you know what the post said... just tried finding stuff with “eco tech” and there’s a few lol but if you string the words together you can have better luck. Good luck!

Ah okay, found it:

But I think it actually needs ecotech pumps:(
