Currently running a mixed reef and dosing 20ml of 3 part per day (35g tank). Struggling with ph and thinking about trying something new.

How would I go about making a transition? Is it worth it?

I don't know if it is "worth it", since that's very subjective and variable, but kalkwasser is a fine way to go that I used for 20 years.

Alternatively, you could use a hydroxide-based two part and get the same pH effect as kalkwasser.

Thanks for the reply! I like the idea of simplifying things, saving money, and fixing my ph (7.7-7.8 every evening).

My tank consumes about 0.5dkh per day. Should I start around one tea spoon per gal?

You can use this calculator to see the effects of different volumes of saturated kalkwasser (~2 tsp per gallon) on alk, and then based on your daily evaporation rate you can determine about what level of saturation is needed to match 0.5 dKH per day. :)
