Hi all

So I am currently running an A80 over my Nuvo10 - It seems to keep my softies alive, and I have a BTA who has shown no signs of discontent...but I think I want to upgrade - AI Prime HD seems to be the guy to go with, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for anything else? I really like the NanoBox's, but the price seems to be steep now'days.

What's up w/this AquaMaxx Nemo??? any and all info/suggestions/slaps in the face are welcome

I have a 16" Reef Breeders Photon V2 over my 16g small tank. Right now it's just a holding tank, but I hope to move my Rock Flower Anemones into it and have it full of just them (in time). It's a light that has 3 & 5 watt leds by Cree and OSRAM and has 6 channels and sunrise/sunset ability. And they have a sponsor forum here at R2R as well.

Go with the AI prime HD or a Kessil A160. I've ran both over the IM10 along with the A80 and I've grown SPS/LPS no problem with all 3. I can say the A80 is underpowered for Acros but it will get them by. Just not the best light for color or growth with. Monti's and other SPS grow just fine under the A80.

OH I should have added, I want some control without having to spend extra $$
The A160 is also in the mix, but I'd have to find a great deal w/controller or apex module

I'd say if you like the look/shimmer of the Kessils and your corals are happy with the A80 maybe go with the A160 and dial it down a bit for your corals to adjust. Just put it on a simple timer until you get a controller. Usually you can find a Used A160 with gooseneck and controller for around $150-175. Also keep any eye out on BRS or Saltwateraquarium.com. They have discounted open box items and the Kessil products seem to come up often.

I run a kessil 160 on a biocube 29 and have had success with sps. I personally like it, because I don’t want to have to set multiple spectrum channels. I like that kessil has the spectrum set, and color, and intensity can be adjusted separately. Keeps it simple which I prefer.

Plus you don’t need a diffuser. No disco dance floor. Just a nice beautiful shimmer.
