Ive been running GFO passively in a media compartment in my sump. I just replumbed to use a herbie overflow, so now the trickling water in the media compartment is the loudest thing in the tank.

I have a reactor I can use, but I want to be sure that I switch over in a safe and sane way.

Is there a suggested equivalency between a GFO dosage for a passive bag, vs GFO dosage for a reactor? I'm sure if I load up a reactor the way I load up the bags, it will bottom out phosphate in a matter of hours.

GFO has to "bubble slightly" to be most effective. It also has to be rinsed to remove "fines".
The Two Little Fishies 150 reactor holds 150 grams @ roughly 1/2 full.

It has to tumble just enough to keep from fusing itself a solid block. If you can't tumble it just mix it with carbon to keep it from clumping.
